Hi from NC!

I'm Mary and I'm an ASL student working on my undergrad in Communication Disorders. I've only taken one ASL class, but I'm very interested in learning more and working at it until I'm fluent. I love to meet new people and gain their perspective and I believe that relationships are the reason we're put on this planet. It's a shame that many American middle and high schools don't put more emphasis on learning other languages. In that respect, we're far behind some other cultures.

I enjoy watching all kinds of movies, but some of my favorites are the Audition, the Shining, and anything by David Lynch. I play the bassoon and like music by Prokofiev and Shostakovich, but I mainly listen to electronic music. Right now I've been listening to a lot of Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, and Stereolab. I like to bake pies and breads and enjoy travelling. Recently, I've become interested in couch surfing, although I haven't couch surfed yet. I work in a deli where I slice meat and wear hair nets.

I look forward to getting to know ya'll!

Welcome to AD! So, what part of North Carolina? Western or Central, Eastern?

I am hearing and I live right in the middle of NC, just near Charlotte. I go to school in the North though. :D

Where are ya'll from? I'll go sift through and see if you have intros on here.

I made a mistake, we get so many ASL students each semester they run together. It was a different one.

I am from Iowa. Anything else you want to know of me, feel free to ask.

To be honest with you, I'm too afraid to live in Greenville. Don't laughing at that comment!

Hey, Boss!....I said I was a "native" of Eastern N.C., but I don't live there anymore. Went to school up in the mountains in Morganton......Now, Greenville is a "nice little town"!...why should ya be "skeered" to live there?....So is Wilson.....Dunno about Canada.....or N.J. !.....or Holly/Gollywood.....
