Hi... My name is Cassi. I'm 24 and music is my life. Ever since I was small all I've wanted to do is sing and listen to music. a little over a year ago, my doctor told me I was going deaf. I've lost more than 50%of my hearing in my left ear. They aren't sure if it will affect my right ear and/ or how long it will take to go completely deaf (if ever).

I'm looking to make new friends and looking for support.
I'm really nervous and upset about everything that is and could/will happen. any advice is welcome. thank you!

Hello and welcome.

I play viola and cello and i understand the fear of losing hearing and being into music. I have been playing since i was 8 and i taught myself. It took me awhile to adjust and i was depressed for awhile but now im more comfortable and i have no problem with telling people to face me and talk and i learned asl. You'll be in two worlds and its cool because you will learn things you never knew and meet some of the coolest people here.

Learning asl would be a good start. You need a backup plan.
