Hey,

I am neither deaf nor hard of hearing but really want to get involved in the deaf community in my area. I know little, actually REAL LITTLE, sign language, but want to get better. I know how to finger spell and a couple of words, I am a white, male, college student at UTK, 21 years of age. If anyone here is from Knoxville or the surrounding areas or knows of anyone please message me. I would love to get involved!:wave::wave:

Hey Alex,

Im not in Kville anymore... but drove thru there this past weekend!! (Go Vols!! Lol I'm in Ky now but will bleed orange forever! :lol:)

About your question, I JUST read about a Deaf meeting at KSD in May... on the forum go under the advertisements section and there's a post about the Tennessee Hillbilly Deaf club... might be a good contact for you!!!

I'm hearing as well but my son is deaf~ that's why I'm here!!

Welcome to AD!!! You'll learn a lot especially if you truly get involved!!

Talk to you soon!!!

Hi Alex;

I grew up in Loudon County and attended the deaf school in Knoxville. I no longer live in the state of Tennessee.

I was a Vols fan until Johnny Majors was run outta the Neyland Stadium.

Alex had a twin? No it can't be. There are 2 Alexs. :shock: Btw...Welcome to AD.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I surely hope that you have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around. :wave:

my name is chan and I am hearing, but I was intruduced to asl by my friend. we were really close but she lost her ability to hear, and then her mom moved her from my school. never saw her again. because of her, I still sign, I help wherever i can. If someone that is deaf or hoh comes to my church i interpret for them, i am teaching some girls sign language at church. they want to sign a song. I am hoping to meet more hoh or deaf people, so i hope that being a part of Alldeaf, will help me.

I used to go to Hungry Jack's (Burger King) every Sunday morning, my friends called it my church, maybe I'll have to renew my "faith" :lol:

:lol: Unless you happen to be Catholic, and like going out to eat breakfast or lunch every Sunday morning. Does that mean you don't go to church but like going to Burger King very religiously that you have found the "faith" meaning food? Very funny though. :naughty:
