Hey! :wave::wave::wave:

How are you today? Lemme introduce myself a little bit. I'm from Minnesota. Trust me, I don't need everyone to tell me, "Oh, that's soooo cold up there!!!" and these kinds of things. Although it is very cold, it's about 10F right now. Of course, I'm prelingually deaf (what else would I want to join here?). Anyway, that's not the point but I want to say hello to all of you and I look forward to participate in discussions and learn about something out of it.

welcome - Actually we have LOTS of people who are peri-lingually or post-lingually Hoh or deaf as well as a LOT of people who are late deafened (deaf and Deaf).

As well as the Hoh/Deaf people we also have a far number of hearing people with Hoh/Deaf family members and a lot of hearing ASL students (some of whom lose interest after a few months, some of whom stick around long-term)


AD is a VERY diverse places, of Hoh, deaf , Deaf, hearing, ASL/English interpreters - HA users, BAHA users , CI users, "oral only", "ASL only", SEE users, CASE/PSE users , "Bi-Bi" and almost anything else you can think of!

:aw: We are not that bad a bunch as we love to discuss or debate what we are trying to help both D/deaf and Hard Of Hearing people including the hearing people who are interest in ASL and getting to learn from us. Sorry for the longest sentence. :lol:

As a matter of fact, I was from Minnesota living in the bush and then had to go to Minneapolis for elementary and high school (oral-only program). I left Minnesota 1972 to move to New Mexico. I love that state (New Mexico) better than Minnesota. But that was a long time ago.


Edit: When I came to Minnesota from Canada to visit and attended a Memorial ceremony for my father who passed away in 2003. Everything look different than before but some of the places I knew were the same but all the same it is different so I am in a different world. Weird. :crazy:
