Me too but I rather be sick for a day or two than for several weeks....Same as infants or kids that get shots they may get a fever for one or two days from it it is because they are injecting a live virus in your system to build antibodies.

So true, you got a point there.

aww angel i had it before and i did need antibodies dang

hope you get well hugs

Herbal teas, any Vitamin C (hot lemon tea with honey, etc or elderberries hot drink with honey) helps to fight viruses, not Antibiotics.

It explains in the link what you should take antibiotics or not.

Ditto that Liebling, if it's a virus nothing you can do about it, unless you coughing up phelm or chest painful then you do need antibiotics... I love hot lemon with honey in my tea mmm...

I know if you just go into a steamed bathroom and sit in there for half hour or an hour.. it'll help breaking up.. Also yes to drink lots of liquid as this time of the year it's very dried so we need to keep our body moisted.. (did I say moisted, oppies) :giggle:

angel STOPPPP smooching then maybe you'll get better oppies I'll better shut up now or plan to run away from your whips... :giggle:

antibiotics doesn't help any form of virus...unless you have a secondary infection from the virus. The Flu cause high fever etc. but antibiotics will not help due to it is a virus. Just take something for the fever and get plenty of rest. If you have a fever for more than a few days, I would recommend you to see a DR. anyways, to make sure they're not any underlying causes from the fever.

They do put some people on antibiotics to prevent a person from getting a secondary infection later on the illness, due to the Flu does suppresses a persons immune system.

Angel's post.
......I haven't experiences this long-lasting virus before until now and its wearing me out as I am beginning to wonder if I'd ever feel well again ..My husband said if I don't get better by Monday, he will take me to see a doctor to get some antibiotics..

I provided the link in general way about antibiotic explains what you should take or not and then explain that antibiotics has nothing do to cure virus but hot lemon tea, herbal tea, steam bath, sauna, etc.

I also had bronchitis, too. I had it for many years and know what I am saying. I know it's horrible painful.

All what you do is have doctor to listen your chest/lungs because there're many form of bronchitises. Some form of bronchitis lead severe serious. I had my family doctor to listen my chest/lung and know what form of bronchitis I have... My family doctor know me well for not like to take antibiotics or any medicial but herbal tea for bronchitis, drops for bronchitis.

I would have to take antibiotic unless I have serious bacterial infection.

Babyblue,
:ty: for provide the link about antibiotic. I knew it has nothing do to cure viruses but infections.

Exactly!

Antibiotics is only help to cure bacterial infections, not viruses.

Need to drink plenty of liquids like lemon tea, herbal teas and water...

True, about steamed bathroom... Did you tried sauna (Hot Tub)? I have been tried (check my thread, I provided as I quoted DefMATRIXense's post). It's an excellent!!!!!!!!

As you said that you tried steamed bathroom... I would recommend you to try lemon bath... is add pure lemon juice with few olive oil in hot bath... mmmhhhh

Normally I don't take antibiotics but herbal tea and bronchitis drops but I would take antibiotics unless one of form bronchitis is severe serious.

You can see many different form of bronchitis - some of bronchtis is serious...

Liebling, you only took half of the line where you throught I need antibiotic for the virus cold actually it was for bronchitis. Please do not twist my words around I did not say I need antibiotic for coughing, sore throat, chills, fever etc, if you did not understand my post you could have asked me. Beside RebelGirl had a history of bronchitis and she suggest me to go to the doctor for antibiotics, since I wasn't getting any better but worse, couldn't go cause of car problems. but now I'm feeling better after 4 weeks. but still coughing.

Wow, I guess I'm not alone, I'm dealing with this horrible cough, bronchitis , sinus infection, sore throat, chills, fever etc for 3 weeks now, I haven't experiences this long-lasting virus before until now and its wearing me out as I am beginning to wonder if I'd ever feel well again ..My husband said if I don't get better by Monday, he will take me to see a doctor to get some antibiotics..

Liebling some bronchitises can lead to infections. I know that not everyone likes taking meds as I am one of them. However, when Angel described her symptoms to me, it sounded like she had the very same thing, I had once about 8 years ago.

When it comes down to not being able to breathe and feeling like you cant breathe, the doctor is the thing to do. I needed two courses of antibiotics to kick that 8 years ago.

And sometimes, one of the best things we can do, instead of offering advice is to offer sympathy.

While some of us may have problems with this or that, remember not every case is the same!

Bronchitis is characterized as caused by viruses or bacteria and can last for several days to weeks. In other words, it's a respiratory infection. While they may go away in a few days, the cough can last for weeks.

In Angel's case, it is being accompanied by mucus, not being able to breathe well, and general malaise - in which she needs to see a doctor. She is taking Rebelgirl's advice and has tried to see the doctor with RoadRunner to confirm and treat her bronchitis, however, they are having car problems and will have to make a new appointment.

Sometimes herbal remedies can help, but not, solve the problem.

*cough* ha ha...

Is that helpful for flu shots... Nope..
I've learned it lot from that.. which when you got flu shots...
Afterall someone who got flu and can give you get flu because of virus germs..
While you have flu shots.. Flu virus inside your body and cannot escape from your virus spread give next victim.. because flu stay inside trap your body reason "flu shot" that why..

Rest of my family doesn't need frigg'n flu shot.. no big difference from spread virus all over around the passing around.. jumping into germs inside the body then jumping next victim.. As long you keep care yourself and know what do with flu.. take medication or else... pay visit doctor and get antibodies.
