Does anyone else deal with anxiety when they put their hearing aids in? Everyone is telling me I need to wear them, so I’m safer and they don’t have to repeat themselves every time they talk to me. The last time I put them in I had a panic attack… so now I’m scared. There are so many sounds I haven’t heard in years… when I hear them it’s like I can’t register what the sound is, so I freak out. Does anyone know what I should do?

Can you turn down the volume? I understand when I get anxiety sounds become too loud so I just lower the volume or wear one hearing aid. Or maybe ask your audiologist to lower your sounds so it's not so jarring for you and that way to you can be more calm. And practice calming techniques.

I love to use the Google Live Transcribe app when I am out as it helps me catch conversations.

And maybe you need to tell people I'm not feeling my best today please get back to me later or something to give you time to breathe. Or telling them I'm feeling stress give me time to calm down or have them text/write you the information. Or use a speech to text recognition app. Just some ideas.

I wear my hearing aids all the time so I am use to it. It's okay to take breaks too. Oh sometimes if you use different buttons like switching the bass/music program mode sounds or something it can become too loud so I always turn it off and reset my hearing aid volume so it's back to normal. lol it's like why my dad's yelling inside my ear??? OH!

Breathe I hope you can feel better! Hugs!
