Help me! Virus attacked my laptop

This is not Dell's fully responsibility for prevent virus. It is more responsibility of Microsoft. In fact, Microosft is working hard to prevent virus. For example, All Windows 8 come with Microsoft anti virus. As another said, more hacker are toward for Windows because it has higher population than Mac.

Another option is to buy OEM Windows 7 ( or 8 if you perfer) and install that. That is what I do and that way don't have to deal with programs added by computer companies. Now might be good time to look for them in computer stores and etc since they would be trying to get rid of them if still in stock.

I got Windows 7 Ultimate few months back for less than 200 dollars and it used to be way more than that.

BUY a decent AV, get Kaspersky, or Avast!, whatever but dont go for Norton, or McAfee they are Shit now...

Kaspersky is similar to Norton but its takes up a lot less space and much faster...others i dont know but I do have *heard* Avast! is good and so is Panda...

3. Stop download free crap stuff.
4. Don't use Outlook, prefer web mail under Firefox or Chromo, not IE.
5. Stop accept crap app from Facebook.

Then you're good to go,

I am sick and tired of people not understanding the big picture here. right now it APPEARS that pc has more problems then apple does. Ask yourself why? why do MORE people still continue to use PC over apple despite the problems? where do problems come from. After you think about it for a few mins then read on ...


pc is attacked more the apple because pc is a bigger audience for attackers. If apple is more popular then pc then apple will be attacked EXACTLY the same as pc is right now. apple do get their share of problems and viruses and attacks, its just not as big since the AUDIENCE is alot smaller then pc.

Its impossible to know about all trojans/viruses/exploits holes BEFORE it happens for BOTH apple and pc. so - no more apple vs pc wars please. you get what fits YOU in terms of flexibility and comfortableness and programs you want to use.

another thing, DONT download 'free AV or scannner' if its in pop-up box, thats' a definite warning sign, it IS a bad shit...dont touch it, close it, and if you can't shut up the computer - FAST.
even at that, it might be too late ...theres 50/50 chance it IS a malware...so try go for the fully loaded (and most expensive AV $30 even $50 a year is worth alot more than all your hard work, home, and finanical security are worth...put differently if you DID not have the best AV and DID nOT keep it updated you run the risk of picking up a malware, nagware, bribeware, and what have you...running up mich higher...
 
Its how it is written (Coding) M$ and Apple uses different language. So, since you use English/ASL maybe? And if you go to Japan or China, would you understand their language, eh? Same idea Different language equals confusion.

Since M$ used to be major software company and they are most likely to hit and crack coding than smaller one, Apple for instance.

You haven't answered his question. The answer is the language(coding), and how programmers, computer engineers writes codes, Apple and M$ writes whole different language that is NOT interchangeable. Hackers always looks for bigger audience than smaller to attack. To them, the bigger the better.
