Help me out!

Hi!
I'm a hearing girl that is trying (and possibly failing) to learn ASL. I am having a lot of trouble with classifiers in particular. I really just don't understand how I am supposed to know when to use them or really the whole subject. I speak English (obviously) so classifiers are a new concept for me. If you have any advice or resources that might hep me out with this issue, let me know!
