Hello!

I am new on AllDeaf. And actually, I'm not deaf. I'm a teenager, am hearing, and want to be an interpreter someday.

I've joined AllDeaf in hopes that some of you will be able to answer some questions I have about sign language and what it takes to become an accomplished interpreter. I would also love to get to know some deaf people!

By the way, if any of you have tips for an interpreter-to-be, I would love to hear them! Also, if any of you know about a Deaf group in Michigan I could join, to immerse myself in the Deaf culture, it would be much appreciated!

Everyone on here is very friendly and open so I'm sure we'd be happy to answer any questions you have.

Asking me about ASL or Deaf groups in Michigan may be a dead end though :P

to AD Makenna. I also am a hearie interested in becoming an interpreter. I am happy to see others who are. There are very few interpreters so we need to get as many as we can. This site is really great as Simown has stated. There are some really great people here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
