Hi, my name is Peter and i am a new member from Sweden. (SSD)
Is there anyone who has baha experience. In Jan I´m going to test it for the first time. I lost my hearing on left ear when I was 5 years old. ("pox") I´ll hope it´s something for me, but who knows.
Would likt to "hear" from you.

To the best of my knowledge, no active user of this message board currently has a BAHA device. There have been a couple of threads on the subject, however. I may get one someday.

Hi.
Baha - bone anchored hearing aid. A screw into your skull and a hearing aid on that. For some people it works fine and for others...but I´m going to test it with a band.

Serious..the BAHA will be screwed in your head? That is new to me and I work in the field of deaf ed.

From what I've heard the BAHA is designed for people who have normal hearing in one ear but with a loss in the other one. It works via bone conduction technology, hence the need to screw it in. I think that the sounds are then conducted around to the good ear. Apparently the results are pretty good.

I think it is a Swedish company which was taken over by Cochlear a year or two ago.
