welcome! Are you Deaf or hearing? i lived in osaka and kyoto for 6 months when i was young, like 7/8 years old because my dad was workimg there for over a year. i actually became somewhat conversational in japanese but no longer remember a single word except ichi-ni-sun (sp?) which for everyone else is 1-2-3. its crazy i picked it up and then lost it completely so easy. itd be a good skill to have my dad is kanaka maoli which is native hawai'ian and from oahu. all my ohana (family) live there and now my dad does at least half the year. theres so many japanese tourists all the signs in some places are in english and japanese and all the hospitality jobs want people for jobs who speak any japanese at all, and most jobs are in hospitality.
