Hello everyone,
I hope it's okay I joined here. I'm a hearing person. I have started to learn ASL because recently my husband had a major health scare (heart attack) in which he lost his hearing completely. His hearing gradually started to return but at a diminished capacity. So now we are learning ASL because we're told he'll likely loose his hearing completely. Although the doctors don't know if it'll be all of a sudden or gradually because they don't know why he lost his hearing in the first place.
I live in Maryland although I'm from the U.K.
I know a small amount of BSL as I have an Aunt and Uncle who are both deaf.
I'm not quite sure what else to say. I'm quite terrible at introductions. It's a pleasure to meet all of you and I hope I haven't caused offense by joining because I, myself aren't deaf or HoH...
