Romanian is similar to Spanish but not by enough that a Spanish speaker can understand me. I can understand a decent amount of Spanish ( Not a butt load or anything ) However, I know many Spanish speakers that say they can't understand a damn thing I say with the exception of a word here or there. Yes it's "Latin based" However it is definitely its own thing. Hence why you can't find Rosetta Stone or many language developers with it. We have different letters that make completely different sounds than Spanish. Definitely not the same as Spanish, though a lot of people like to lump it there....
