Greetings from Sunny Florida,
My name is Chasity Lynn. I am proud parent of a hard of hearing little girl who is 18 months old and the daughter of a hard of hearing mother who raised me by herself. I grew up not having all the sophisictaed technology that is available these days. My mother had many of times went unaware of when I cried or when something was wrong, mainly the smoke alarm going off.
I became my mothers EARS and always will be to this day. I grew up knowing ASL as my first language and did not learn english until I was around 20 months old. All of my children have some form of medical problem. My oldest was born with cerebral palsy, she is going to be 5 and knows ASL. My middle child was born with heart problems and stomch problems, he too knows ASL. My youngest was recently diagnosed with transient bilateral hearing loss due to the fact that her ENT doctor would not put tubes in her ears until she had 8 or 9 ear infections. A stupid rule if you ask me, but now she has a 70% loss in her left ear. Either way, she still knows ASL.
Through all the challenges I have gone through in my life and my children have gone through I love ASL and the beautiful language it brings to everyone. I am a Photographer and also a stay at home Mom which I am fortunate enough to be able to do both of the things I love. Stay at home with my kids and work when I want to!
If y'all have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to talking with y'all soon.
