Hey. My name is James and I'm a hearing ASL student. I started out taking ASL because there are not a lot of people in the medical field (especially in the pre-hospital setting where I currently work) who are proficient in ASL, but the more I am learning the more fascinating I am finding, not just the language, but Deaf culture as a whole. :wave:

My teachers are always trying to encourage males to go into the medicial field, sounds like there is a big need. :)

Thanks for the welcome. Yes there is a huge need for male health care workers, at least on the professional level (above the allied level that is). That's something I'm kind of counting on when I get my RN license and go job hunting (hello UCLA or USC Uni Hospitals :D)
 
There is a nurse and a doctor who are members, bet you catch up to them soon. Welcome!
