Oh yes, I like wearing my kilt and sporran, so much more comfortable than trousers, plus it's a great ice breaker at parties too.

Guys, get yourself a kilt, it'll do wonders for your love life. I garantee that no matter how ugly or overweight you think you are, a smart shirt and kilt will make sure the ladeezs pay attention to you all night long!!! If you're like me and turn into a babbling idiot when chatting to a beautiful woman (as they're all beautiful), the kilt can be a great excuse to flirt.

Nope,I have never been to Scotland or outside of my country.. I was impressed by some movies like Highlander III and Braveheart.. Could you remember them ? and I liked scottish higlands area and blended it with my romance side and formed my member name here :D
 
You have to be wary of movies like those ones, as some of the scenes were actually shot in Ireland, apparently Ireland looks more scottish, go figure!

Scotland is a beautiful place, but part of that reason is to do with what the english did to scotland 200 yrs ago. Scotland is the most sparsley populated country in europe because of the highland clearances. If that hadn't happened, you would see a very different scotland today. Funnily enough the highland clearances did do a lot for america as many people over the pond can trace their history back to scotland. We do have own devolved parliament, but still have to take our orders from westminister in london.

Did you know that the american declaration of independence is actually based on a letter written by scottish nobles to the pope in rome 1320, ours is called the Declaration of Arbroath "It is not for honour nor riches, nor glory that we fight but for liberty alone, which no true man lays down except with his life."

wow.. Interesting to see How we are 'fooled' by some american movie producers.. Anyways,I am keeping my sympathy to Scottish people who were invaded by English occupant troops in the past. I like knowing William Wallace ,as well... wishing the best for Scottish people :hug:

Hello and welcome to AD. I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan. Over the last nine years, there's been an annual book of fan written short stories that I've loved reading. I hope that Strange New Worlds keeps going as long as Trek has.

Speaking of Trek, do you like the character Scotty? Jimmy Doohan was one of the fan favorites on the convention circuit until he died last year.
 
I'm ST fan too! I have about 900 ST books on ebook format, dunno how I'm gonna read them all though! hehe I also own all the TV series and movies on DVD including the animated ST series as well.

It was a real shame enterprise got cancelled, it was starting to get really good, though i wasn't too hot on the Peter "Robocop" Weller episodes. My favourite series of them all is DS9.

Scotty was cool! Ye cannae huv an enterprise wi' oot a scotsman in yon engin' room. Don't know if you heard over there but in scotland here was a bit of an argy bargy going on about where in scotland scotty actually came from. Some say aberdeen, glasgow, or even edinburgh too. It all came about because of the various local councils wanting to commemorate Doohan's life and contributions.

I'm looking forward to next ST movie, should be good as JJ Abrahms, the guy behind LOST and ALIAS, is writing and directing it.

The story was written as part of a collaborative project with writers doing their own short story set in a shared fantasy world called Gothlingscarn. Its a first draft so there are some glaring errors, info dumps, repetitions... etc

Nothing strange there, 'cause most of us are better at non-verbal communications than other kinds. Writers learn to write by writing and submiting, writing and submitting. Lots of luck.

welcome chase, but goggs has been a member for a while now, i dug out this post as i haven't been in for a while, perhaps he might pop back in at a later date to read posts.
