Heigh weight and bmi

I worked with another girl that was 4'5 and weighed 85 pounds - little itty bitty hispanic girl. She was 23 but looked more like 12. She also had just carried a baby full-term. I would be afraid to have children having a frame so small.

The person I mentioned in my previous post was advised by her doctor not to have children for that very reason. Her doctor said that if she carried a baby to full term, the weight and stress of delivery would be too much for her small body to handle. I also seem to remember reading somewhere that most preemies are born to mothers who are smaller in size.

Wow, that's small!
But if she'll never grow any more taller than she'll never have kids

C-section'll be best

I was told that 4'11' or less makes you legally a LP.

I have a friend who is 4'11.5". Her doctor said that if she was 4'11", she would be a LP.

Speaking of LPs, there is a type of dwarfism called primordial drawfism. Primordial dwarfs are the tiniest people in the world. Their body structure is so small that in some cases, they are born with a single kidney.

:giggle:

I have not grown since I was 11. I'v been annoyed watching everyone else grow up, but not me

Its probably premature related as they tend to be smaller

My sis is also small for our age

I was in the hospital for 4 months after I was born, so it took quite a bit of time for me to gain enough weight to go home. Doctors wanted to continue feeding me with IVs, but my mother felt that she could try feeding me on her own. Apparently it worked because by the time I was 2, I was a little chubby. :giggle: By the time I started kindergarten, I lost alot of weight and went back to being very small.

Aww LOL

I shouldnt have been discharged when I was, but my parents manage to persuade doctors to let me go home when I did because I was still quite a bit under 5lb.

The hospital I was born at would not allow my parents to take me home until I weighed a little more than 5 pounds.

Yeah, I had to be 5lbs but it was easier for my parents to take me home rather than having one baby at home, one in hospital near home and another like 50 miles away and having an 2 1/2 year old son at home also

My mother had 3 children at home when I was discharged from the hospital. She also had a number of foster children as well. Her hands were quite full at the time.

Wow your mum fostered? My mum currently fosters

That's awesome. :D

My mother has been a foster parent since the late 60s. The last child she took care of was in 1989. When I grew up, there were always infants and young children around. It was nice. I made some friends with a few children my mother cared for since they were only a few years younger than me. I'll never forget seeing one of my mother's foster children when I was 15. We always got along great and were like sisters. I was 15 at the time and she was 13. It was wonderful being able to see her again because when she left our home, she was 8 or 9.

My mum has been fostering over a year now and we'v had 6 kids.
