It would depend on that hearing person's motives. I have met hearing people who have learned ASL and then start hanging out with us which is fine but then they start telling us what to do or try to run our lives. EXCUSE ME!!! It is :madfawk: to those people.
Also, I would find out that those people tend to be outcasts in the hearing world due to their inappriopriate behaviors in society and then try to bring that to the deaf community. Not gonna work!!
I really hate it when someone who just learned or learning ASL say "I like the deaf culture and you people are so wonderful." Huh? It is like they are categorizing us and putting us on one pedestal? We are all individuals with our own personalities and beliefs...just because we all cant hear or hear a little doesnt mean we all think alike or all wonderful. I know I am not "wonderful" sometimes! LOL
