I've vaguely aware of P3, but I believe it's something I should invest in and download.
I was not trying to be too forward or anything in asking for an interview.. I'm just trying to be friendly. I feel bad if I'm coming off the wrong way.
Would it be alright if I were to post the questions here instead of a videochat? I'd appreciate if anyone would like to answer them..
1. What is your family's communication background?
They were all hearing. They spoke.
2. How do you prefer to communicate? Sign or speak with hearing aid?
Currently I am between worlds, having lost my hearing as an adult. That means I am bad at listening, and bad at ASL. Hoping to improve with ASL. No chance with listening improvement.
3. What is your educational background?
Some post secondary school. I learned COBOL, Fortran, Basic and RPG. Look it up.
4. If applicable, what was your first use of ASL?
Learning it.
5. Community- Do you feel apart of deaf community or hearing?
I am between worlds, accepted partially by both, rejected partially by both. There is about 10% of deafs that refuse me, and about 20% of hearing. YMMV
6. Have you had any work related communication problems in the past?
Certainly, as well as inhibited advancement opportunities and job offers.
7. Do you have any stories of being treated differently because you are deaf?
Hmmm...having people want to interview me because I am different; being mocked in public because I struggle to understand speech; having to watch TV without understanding what is said. The list is much larger, but I am giving you the 2 minute version.
