I don't understand what you mean illicit drugs? Are you talking about tobacco or just dealing with drugs like dope?
Yes, we do have illegal drugs but they were being supplied by criminal men (women?) coming to First Nation reserves (Canada) or Indian reservations (USA) to get them all dope up just like alcohol. This was disgraced to our Native people especially to our young people (teenagers and young adults). They suffered a lot from the abuse of drugs and alcohol.
Why are you laughing about and think that we are all dumb and don't know how to stop doing alcohol and drugs?
Illicit drugs = cocaine, heroin, meth, crack, PCP and other drugs that is illegal under federal law. I don't list marijuana as one of them because it does have a lot of benefits, however, federal government made illegal for ridiculous political purpose and profiting the pharmaceutical.
I found RR's post is funny and federal government made failed mission on Native Indians, so you cannot depends on federal government due lack of resource to support your family - just follow normal civilian like find a job, own a home, find better school for child instead of spend rest of life on reservation.
Native Indians in Alaska has alcohol problem for many years since became statehood in 1959, even during territory era too (before 1959).
