I do get a sound night's sleep and the lack of noise certainly helps.
However, I sometimes do sleep with the aid. When I was a kid, one of my most powerful memories, I used to fall a sleep on the beach listening to the waves. To this day, I can't think of many things more peaceful than it.
Of course, I don't hear waves like I used to, but I can remember how beautiful it sounded.
It's give and take...
I used to sleep with a Kenny G cd on repeat, he's an alto sax player, no vocals, just really soothing music. That's how I realized I was losing my hearing. I woke up one morning thinking.....it's like I hear music, but I don't, it's not like a song stuck in my head...what is that? and then I sat up....I'd been sleeping on my good ear, I sat there for a few second covering and uncovering my good ear and thinking....OMG I'm deaf!!!!!
