Hard of hearing people who act totally Deaf

I knew this girl who is HEARING and she preferred to hang out with me and my friends (deaf also) and she was fluent with cued speech and ASL.. well anyway she pretended she was deaf like us and even that time in HS she was trying to get an interpreter because she claimed she is deaf so she could find a easy way to pass and graduate high school :roll: I knew she was faking herself being deaf because one time i was in the backseat in the car while she was driving and a friend was at the front and we were talking, not signing or using cued speech (we planned to test on her) and somehow she just turned and got involved in the conversation like she knew what we were talking about.. busted! :P

I know some HOH who do that, acting like they can't speak or hear. My son is HOH and he tends to do that too I guess he doesn't feel like speaking or listening so he just ingores the noises and signs.. guess its easier for him but when it depends on his mood, he'll speak AND sign, both..

I am not HOH But I do use my voice and use signs.. I talk with hearing people with my voice and I use signs with my deaf friends cuz i think if I talk with my deaf friends who cannot talk or hear themselves then it makes me look werid. One time my deaf friend asked me are u using ur voice and I would say yes and my friend would say why do u use ur voice with me When I cannot hear let's just mouthwording without voice and use sign.. So I did.. Sometimes I forget not to use my voice with them but it just the habit.
