Guess what Hurricane Beryl (which downgraded to Tropical storm anyway) already hit Nantucket and Cape Cod.. That is where I am originally from. So there is no way we can stop it. I also heard that ( am storm chaser) there might be at least two to four freakishly bad hurricane will hit USA before the Hurricane season is over. So please don't judge its power, when it will come, and where it will hit. We all will never know!!! :dunno:

It is approximately one to two hours away from my home. :Ohno:

Sabby, chill. It's over open waters. You're not gonna see any damage from it.

You'll probably get some rain/wind. It only has 50 mph winds AT THE CENTER. The wind field lessens the further out you go from the storm.

So, don't freak out. You'll probably just have nasty weather, and that's all. Nothing to worry about.

Ocean Breeze,
Yes you are right,,

Kalista,,
Not need to worry, I talked with my freind that lives there too. They say it was no big deal, just grey sky and rain. Plus I have not heard anything from my family yet which they still live in Cape Cod. I guess they are okay so far. I will see them this Sunday. I'll let you know what is their update and experience.

I think everyne up there is okay :thumb: The storm never made landfall, so it's unlikely that they saw anything more than a little wind, and nasty skies.

I live down where we see some nasty hurricanes. For us, a tropical storm is like a drill. We get several TS warnings per season. We've also had several actual hurricanes hit here as well. I must tell you, even though I poo poo tropical storms, I DO still have a respect for them. You can still get quite a bit of damage from them. The winds knock down trees and you DO get tornados that spawn from the rain bands of a tropical storm/hurricane. So, in that respect, you don't want to take them lightly.

However, when a storm is so far off shore, it's not likely to have that much impact. It's only when a storm is approaching you, that you should worry!

Oceanbreeze..
yea, I have been thru several tropical storms and one time Hurricane.. Yea, I can understand what you mean.. I know that those did not affect in Cape Cod so far this year...

I will always still respect and listen what is going on for storms that is around Cape Cod. Parts of lands out there are rapidly disappearing due to errosion. Anything that is either on or close by doesn't matter, they can quicken the pace of errosion. That is their biggest concern.

Hurricane season have just started last month.. noticed it get worse in late August and Early September when it usually get busy at that time of year. It is only July? Hurricanes will come.. How many? we dont know.

mother nature is pissed off at us cuz the weather meterologist are always right. now she is spreading her hot airs around us.. and change the wind directions.. to knock the weather meterologist off from being right.. haha.. it was on news this morning.. haha jeez..

but still so sad to hear alot of people died from heat wave.. :( They need to take cool shower and stay hydrated .. sighs..

I don't think Hurricanes will be worst this year...

I think the heat wave will kill some of us.
