Escape path in case of tornado...

LOL its the last bedroom needing updates at my parents. The bedroom is 13x15 with a "L" leg off it thats 6x8. Running new wiring to eliminate the last of the old knob n tube also running 10/3 for an AC/Heat unit. That leg has an exterior wall thats decinergrating so I framed it out and insulating it ( brick and old plaster) sealed with caulk and expandable foam so theres no dust or air infiltration. That framed out wall will be the Media wall, complete with a 55" UHD tv and sound system with a blue ray player complete with a dual recliner. Installing nice carpeting with pad as well. Yes, that wall will be insulated with R13 blankets. Fresh paint and the works.

The other pic was under the floor where I was trying to fish the wire without my wire pull , it was a pain but I got the main wires through. Now to get the wall outlets ran in the rest of the room will be a breeze.

Well close to being done with duct, wiring and wall.

Spent the entire day pulling wire behind baseboards and removing old wiring as I go. Old outlets are screwed to baseboards, no junction boxes. So I am knocking plaster off to the bricks, enlarging opening in baseboards to accept a shallow mount box and upgrading old 2 prong outlets to new 3 prong decor outlets with grounds. Also adding extra outlets as there was only 2 in the entire room. Also ran a 220 line for a window unit (ac and heat)

I am sealing everything , expandable foan in the joints of floorboards to wall, under baseboards, caulking all cracks and seams in the wood work/windows, trim. This room will be air tight, dust proof and highly efficient . Almost done with wiring as I need to install 2 more outlets. Then scrape the loose ceiling texture off and retexture ...then ready for paints and then install padding and carpet.

I also need to repair that hole in the kitchen ceiling still, so thats pending as soon as Mom gets stuff put away so I can make a mess....lol

After this Im selling all my tools except for some basics....Im done.

I been doing same thing for same reasons. 6 hours further on with my mess and about take more pain killers/.Happy days

Well past couple days Ive been busting hump on the bedroom, think Ive really over did it this time... I sneezed and dropped like a rock, blew my back out...WTH? Ive heard of people throwing their backs out, but I was standing painting a door frame, sneezed and OH MY GOD the pain... cant hardly even sit down, wow.
Anyways, the last few days I popcorn textured the ceiling ( what a mess that is) orange peel textured the walls ( again a mess ) just finished painting the larger room walls and trim. Now to move all the furniture out of the smaller area and paint, then move furniture back to install tack strips, pad and carpet, them set furniture into place and finish the smaller room... a lot of moving, but I dont think Im going to be doing it, have to get some friends over for this....ahhh, did my back really have to go at this time? This **** hurts too !!!!

Ouch ! Did you try putting any ice or heat on your back ? Hope you'll feel better soon.

Power of a sneeze... Was wondering when I got to you saying about needing things to be moved of you planned to try doing it.... Lots of friends... Hope you feel better soon...

Thanks, nah, I just popped a couple pain pills and waiting for them to kick in and going to bed. A friend is stopping in tomorrow as we are supposed to go to the salvage yard, depending on how my back is now.
I took my daughter home tonight, but I let her drive the jeep. She just bought a Stratus SXT and getting it legal as well as getting her drivers license. so letting her get some skills...lol as I showed her a new back road route to her house out in the boonies where she lives now.
God I wanted to be done with this room this weekend, now itll probly be another week. I just picked up my giant oversized recliner today as well... so its still in the box until the room is done so it doesnt get messed up. Ill post pics later of the progress as I couldnt get to my chargers past few nights with everything sealed off so not only is my phone dead but also all my cochlear batteries...lol
