Hello everyone;

I just thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. I'm 65 years of age and a retired Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor.

I have a 90 % hearing loss in my left ear and a 70 % loss in my right ear. I don't use a hearing aid as I've been told it will just amplify what I hear now, which is mostly waves crashing on the beach.

I haven't heard a songbird in more than twenty-five years, or a cricket either (which is good I suppose) but I do miss some sounds.

Thanks for this nice place to come and visit with others I can identify with.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I was born deaf and raised from USA and moved here 16 years ago. I have ancestors lived here in Canada mostly in Quebec and Ontario. So that make me Canadian, too. :)
