Hello!
I'm a 23-year old from Idaho. I have mild bilateral hearing loss from my loud-angsty-music teenage years. I first realized I was hoh a couple of years ago, when I was working in a busy sandwich shop; I noticed that if I was not looking a customer in the face when they were ordering, I was unlikely to get their order right on the first try. I tell people, "if I can't see your lips, I can't hear you."
I used to work for a company that served people with developmental disabilities, so I know some signs, but many of them are modified ASL signs. I am interested in learning more sign, and maybe one day going to school to become an interpreter. I would also like to become more a part of the Deaf community.
