I'm 15 years old and I have a congenital severe to profound hearing loss which pretty much makes me more deaf than HoH. I was diagnosed when I was about 2, and since then I've had to wear hearing aids. I never learnt how to sign as I was brought up 'hearing,' but I hope that will change when I go to university when I'm older. I'm also a bit shy and reserved. I prefer to watch than take part (Stalkerish, haha).

I hope to get to know a few people here, since I know no-one else who is deaf (I live in a rural village, which sucks).

Hi there. I hope you do find some friends here. We have a few British young people. :welcome:

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I think I am the only one in my village (First Nation) here, but I had some deaf friends in the another village in another Indian reserve (REZ). Two native couple move out of First Nation reserve into the city because there is lots of accommodations there than in the village. Only one Deaf person remain in the village (reserve) as it is his home. He does not want to move. It is all about choices.

Have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.

Hi Tsundre, I'm also in a rural village, albeit at the other end of the country - most of my neighbours are aged somewhere between 70 and death, and with the high percentage of old people here they're considering making the shop windows bi-focal! It can be pretty lonely at times, but luckily I have the natternet and a massive family, so we get by!

Hi I am from South of England, I am a country chick living in big bad city... I miss the countryside... Each to their own.

Welcome to AD. Have fun

Lots of Southerners here, then! I actually want to move out of my village when I'm older.. it's too quiet here.
