Many gas stations and small stores owners are from other country. I realize that these owners are not American citizen because some of them speak poorly in English.

My friend told me that most Indian people (India), who rent their apartment, work at a store as owners, and they collect our American money. They wired their money to their family and relatives in India and Pakistan.

She also told me that they live their apartment for about 10 years, and then they move back their country when they have enough money. It seems that they are stealing our American money.

The reason is that I saw on the news a few years ago that two different Indian families refused to pay their house property tax for over 5 years. I guess that they sold their house and move back to their country. My opinion is that it is wrong that they should not screw our country.

webexplorer, I feel bad for you because the beautiful ethnic people I've met and got to know.. Indian, European and other countries are really great people.

Almost every very weekend hubby and I go to the Farmer's Market and we see a lot of Indian vendors and we know those same vendors. They're great people to get to know. Sometimes the ladies will have henna on their hands and I'll inquire where they got theirs done so I can have mine done.

Recently hubby and I went to City Hall as there was a multicultural festival, we had a great time. Just so you know, not everyone is all about money.

Well, unfortunely this isn't new...its been going on for a long time and sadly there isnt much we can do. Same thing going on in canada as well.

don't be a fatalist, but yup foriegners problems is partly the reason for racism problem, while depending on how you reduce the origin of the problem, many would argue it stemmed from Capitalism. I would say bit of both, the foriegners knew well whats the loop holes are, so in effect I'd agree with webexplorer, it as exploited. And like if they (foriegners) complain for unequalness, then they should also observe we are ALL collectively responsible for tax obligation and not escape the responsibility.
Hate to say, with more free trade coming soon, we will see alot more of this too.

Just cause they don't speak english well doesn't mean they are not American citizens.

The gas station right near me, two brothers are owners, they're very nice people, I noticed that some Americans are taking advantage of their business by asking for loans such as cigarettes and beers. And those brothers trust those Americans that they will come back and pay what they owe, but still if those customers don't have the money, then don't shop-- that's my opinion.

I feel bad for those two brothers, they've been robbed three times.

should take advantage of Amendment 2... oh wait... you gotta be citizen first... and pay tax first... karma's a bitch, eh? :thumbd:

But they are not American citizens. They're a leech.

How do you know they aren't citizens? If it is just cause of fact they don't speak english well? That is a wrong reason to base it on. For all we know, they have become citizens. People can and do become USA citizens after moving here from another country.

Huh? You don't know if they're an American citizen or not, why are you being so judgmental? You don't know those brothers like I do-- so keep your judgment to yourself.

are they?

I didn't ask, It's rude to go up to someone and ask " hey are you now an American citizen?"

Grow up Jiro.

not really. It's they who should grow up and show some respect for this country... assuming they're illegals. Millions of people like them are responsible for financial drain of our tax money. If you ever wonder why we can't have a decent welfare system... yea

well we're not talking about them, aren't we? We're talking about facts in here. Not "how do you know?" The fact is already there that they lived here for a while to make enough money and then moved back to their country. That's not really the way to become American citizen.

That's interesting. Those owners are probably too friendly. I would say that a very few owners are very nice, and they probably rather to stay in America. It is disappointment for these brother owners that they should protect their business as long as they are honest with our law.

It is really hard for me because many American people who stay in other country must require to get a certification and stay for a few years. Our system is still mess because many U.S. big corporations care about money first than looking up their green cards for a proof. It is more likely that the corporations will get a big trouble with the law. But, the law is still weak nowadays.

:werd: very true... very true... Ohio is relatively easy to obtain gun license and if they were robbed 3x... one would assume the store owner would armed himself after being robbed once or twice. Of course naturally... it is logical to assume that despite of being robbed 3x and still not arming themselves.. they are most likely illegals. but then again... one can assume that they simply don't believe in guns. :dunno:

 Like you know how it had happened? There you go again with your wildest assumptions. They were robbed during closing hours, which meaning a break-in when the store was closed after hours. Duh! ASK don't assume, because it makes you look like an ASS. :D

I am pretty sure that they went into our country illegally. They do not know where to start with because of their poor education.

My mother and I saw three Mexican outdoor employees working on the plants in the front stores. She came and asked them to remove the weeds with her politely. They still do not understand a single word in English. Why in the world they are doing in our country? I am sure that they don't know the salary difference. It looks that these Mexicans are slavery illegally.

I wish that the Mexican people should fight for democracy in Mexico, and they never did it for many years. We had a Civil War and American Revolutionary War in our country. What's their problem?

I mean these bold letters referring to unemployed Mexican people in our country. If the owners know how to run in the business, it might be a little different story. I don't know where they get the money from to start their business in America. Maybe, they were scammer in Mexico for awhile, and then they came to our country. This is just my opinion - not the fact.
