Graphic Designers- HP vs Epson

I have owned several of each over the years but the best printers I have owned and the ones currently in use by me and the one I got for my mother in law are Dell Color laser printers. 1320CN is great and really cheap toner cartridges via ebay. My other is a 3115CN multi function Dell color laser. Fast and also easy to refill with aftermarket toner via ebay again
Often can be bought very cheap via dell outlet as refurbished units

The best inkjet printers for graphic design ideally should:

Be able to print 13x19 and smaller
Accept light, heavy, and double sided papers easily
Have individual ink tanks (4 to 8 colors)
Be affordable to purchase and operate
Ideally use dye inks

HP sucks for graphics because its front paper feed precludes them from using many popular heavy weight papers.
The reason for dye inks in your printer is that they work with virtually all coated inkjet paper.

Here are some great graphics printers:
Canon Pixma iX6520 Inkjet Printer
Epson Artisan 1430
Canon Pro9000 MkII

I have Canon Pixma iX6520. It's great. I plan to buy another Epson printer, because they sell pigment inks. Canon sells dye inks. In my personal and professional opinion, pigment inks are the best for any type of paper.
