Anyone use that to look up their own house, etc?

Yup, I had use that for 3 years now, it's great apps.

Yeah I love it but what concerns me most is privacy issues.

It's like easter eggs if you find anything odd like few people are stay there for long time and try to get us pay attention which is pretty cool.

map.google.com and click "street view" if your street is available or now in most major cities. My street view is not available in my house :(

I do use Google Earth map, for travel distances from here to there.

I did use Google Map. I found my neighbor raking leaves on Google Street. I asked him if he is aware of Google Map. Yeah, he know about it. He didn't care cuz his face is hard to see anyway. My house wasn't that visible cuz the Google Map car didn't drive down on my street but near by it.

Seriously!!! I DID saw blue Google Map car roaming in my city last year fall.... I tried to find it on Parkway where I saw it and hoping that they snap pix of street with my truck there but no luck Grrr!!!. Google Map car have dark tinted globe on top of the roof with aluminuim rack attached to it.

Privacy issue, Yes, I'm concerned but my house is bit blurry and it's too blurry to see house address and it is not on the Street view but use magnify glass blow up to see my house anyway *whew*. You can opt out by contacting Google and let them know that you want your house deleted on the Street view, they can do that.

Catty

I t is not perfectly accurate. My house is about fifteen numbers off. I had to keep checking up the street until I finally found it.

It's neat to get an idea of where people live and what geographical markings are near their home.

What is your hometown so that we can Google Earth it to see what it looks like? :)

No physical addresses please as we do want to respect privacy of AD members on here. :)

I'll start...Ocean Park, WA.

I can't tell you where I live now but if you want to see the first place where I lived, it's 27 Pine Island Road, Groton, CT.

If you look up "in the sticks" in Oxford Illustrated Dictionary, they use my house.

I'm six miles east of Crabtree, Oregon. My house is off Fish Hatchery Drive, 1.1 miles east of Richardson Gap Road.

Right next to the airport eh?
Not really. Closer to the beach and boat launches. The airport is across the
water; you can't see it from the ground. I've never even noticed the airport when we visited there. It's just a small one for private and commuter planes. I flew out from there once on a commuter plane; it was so small that I couldn't even stand upright in it. Anyone flying outside of commuter distance has to go to NYC to catch a plane.

I'm going up to CT next week. If I have time, I'll check it out. But I've never before noticed the airport from that neighborhood.

Of course this area has developed and changed since 1951. :P

But the house is still there.

Byrdie, I can see the satellite view of your area. Water on both sides. Nice.

Chase, I can see the satellite and bird's eye views of your area. Very rural. Nice.

I'm in Mountlake Terrace, Washington...nothing special about the area...it's a suburban region of Seattle.
