Hi, can someone recommend a good brand of battery tester for size 675 batteries? I have a cheap one from a drug store. It was working fine for size 13, but for 675, it shows battery as full long after it is depleted.

I pretty much just don't bother with the battery testers. Once the battery's dead, it's dead and I put in a fresh one. I don't know how reliable the tester is.

Unfortunately, my son is too small to tell me when there's something wrong with the sound. I change the batteries weekly now, but never know if they are still good at that point, or maybe need to be changed more often. Having a reliable tester would be a big help.

I use the Duracell Activair Battery Tester. You could probably get it from one of the websites that sell hearing loss related products.

I rather be safe than sorry to ensure that the battery does indeed need to be replaced. Cause there were times that it wasn't the battery but rather that the tube in the ear mold needed to be airblowed or that the volume had unintentionally been lowered and stuff like that.

Hope this helps.

your ear is the best tester if youre not picking up sounds as you should chuck this one get another one , simple

Thank you. I will order one and try it out.

@Grummer: I don't trust my ears, through the filtered listening tube, to tell me what my kid might be hearing. I hope a good tester will help.

I think the new Oticon Safari have a light display to let the hearing parent know. Maybe you could check into new aids.

Thank god I didn't have that while growing up. I'd have broken several more hearing aids.

Will these work for profound hearing loss? My son has Phonak Naida V UP now, and seems to be doing OK with them. He's also going through the CI evaluation process, so I'm not sure changing aids is a good idea right now.

well the Oticon Safari has a superpower hearing aid designed for kids that has the same loss as your kid and it is also the pedatric verison of the Oticon Chilli so it has has the same feature but very different than mine. BTW, I only have the Oticon Safari 600 P (UP) for my moderate severe-severe hearing loss but I'll look into that later if I'm in your son's boat.
