I recently got approval from VR to get new hearing aids so I'm in the market for new aids. A little background on me... I am "Profoundly" deaf and am in the 95db range in both ears. However, with hearing aids, I am able to hear a lot more than I am credited for. Audiologists are always flabbergasted at the fact that I am able to speak so well and hear more than "expected." I grew up using analog hearing aids until the Widex Sensco aids came out 10 years ago and they were very good digital aids. After they wore out, I "upgraded" to the Oticon Sumos. At first, I thought they were good but eventually, they made me SO SICK, I couldn't wear them anymore and I couldn't afford to replace them so I went without aids for 5 years. Now that I have the opportunity to get new ones, I want the BEST! My VR counselor is suggesting I get the Phonak Naida III UP aids. Are they good enough for my hearing loss? Would I benefit better from the Naida V UP better than the Naida III UP aids? Also, I recently tried on a pair of Audibel aids and they SUCK!!!
