Get over it, will you?

Yeah ... I would like to share with you about one of my friend's famous story related to rumors.

-Pick up a feathered pillow, and a knife
-Bring them with you and go to 10th floor apartment
-Open the window, put pillow outside of the window
-Stab it with a knife
-Make sure you release feathers out from the pillow bag
-Let pillow fly in the air
-Go down to the first floor

Now, my question is, are you able to pick up all feathers when you are down there?
Same concept with rumors.

What does that CCCP mean? :o

This sounds like a story that would be said out of a Clueless-type movie.

"OMG! Like... whatever! I am so over it!"

Seriously, if someone tells you a line like that... it's likely to be one of two things: a real rumor going around or a pick-up line. Either way, it's a way to test you and see how you respond. If it was really a rumor going around, then she caught you. If it was a pick-up line, then it would be like saying that she hopes that you will be interested in you. So, she makes up something to get your attention.

Haha, good one.

Didn't they change the name of Leningrad to St. Petersburg?

It was originally St. Petersburg, when Lenin took his power, he decided to throw St. Petersburg and change it to Leningrad. Mikhail Gorbachev decided to restore its city name back to St. Petersburg in 1991. Bottom line is that I was born in 80's, it was Leningrad, USSR, not St. Petersburg, Russia. Right now those people who was born after 1991 can say they were born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Makes sense isn't it? For those people who never know where is Leningrad, too bad I could identity that person does not know much about history. History is my favorite subject. :afro:

A great analogy but I am not sure if I understand how feathers are like rumors? Explain the concept more?

I agree with authentic. There's not much you could do about rumors, except to ignore it. It'll go away eventually, as long as you don't take it personally. You're denying and making a big deal out of it, which could make the rumors seem to be true to some people. Just move on, and let people talk. Once they see that you're not taking this seriously, perhaps, they will move on and make up stories on someone else.

That's VERY true. I'd have to agree with you on that one.

Thanks guys for listening to my concern and I appreciate all of your inputs, although some of them were pretty hilarious. Thanks again!

Rumors are spreading everywhere, and it is impossible for you to clean it up. Same concept with the feathers are spreading everywhere, is it possible for you to pick them up all ? I know you can, but some feathers lay on the other side of balcony, how do you get it there? Same concept with rumors. :cool2:

Gotcha. Thanks!

There are rumors going around at work about me having dated certain women, having crushes on certain women and that I may or may not be gay. I dont take the rumors seriously becuase I just take them for what they are - stupid rumors that people tend to pull out of their asses. Kinda like farts, stinky and annoying, but nothing to really worry about.

*nods* Agree with others, rumors is not really big thing and are very easy to ignore.. There is some of rumors negatively against me which are not true, like someone from deaf school asked me if I was abusing my ex girlfriend, I was like hell no!

But nothing I can do about it, of course.. all I can do is just be myself and be honestly, then they will realized that whatsoever they heard might not be true or it was.
