Georgia man comes to court drunk to answer public intoxication charges

dunno about Steinhaur....but my daddy had several "stils" in the backwoods of N.C. ....and sold it in Mason quart jars....Moonshine or "White Lightning" is really lethal, caused my Daddy to have a stroke, and brain damage, so he died an early death due to alcohol.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, Rockin'....from what I remember reading, there are a lot of ways to make this stuff but assuming your Dad used one of the oldest and most traditional ways (the pot still) of brewin', it sounds like to me that the brew was just once-distilled as opposed to distilling it several times in order to remove most of the pollutants. Distilled just once and you have a death sauce.

Moonshine!!!!

When I lived in Northern California in a small town called Whitethorn there place called Whiskey Hill and the hippies would all kind of moonshire and use all kind of fruits . They did nothing but made moonshire and get drunk , they sold some moonshire to buy food etc. I went to Whiskey Hill one day to tried the moonshine and it was good! It was called Whiskey Hill for a very good reason!

I had some in Louisiana once.....People had it at a softball game in a bucket. We all drank from the same spoon. something I would never do but I am pretty sure no germs lived through that alcohol.

When my daddy was alive him and mom rode a Harley and some of their friends made Apple Spice shine... I didn't like it but it was funny as hell to see my momma tipsy...

Robin, my granddaddy ran shine in the hollers of virginia according to rumor...and I assume its true b/c my grandma used to get all worked up if I mentioned it lol

TX I'm gonna wake Adam up laughing at you!! You're a talented one ;)

Have you ever made the stuff?

No, I haven't. I have a friend who is in the special forces that grew up on the stuff though. He is from the Georgia Mountains. There was one time in High School that we both played hooky to go fishing and get drunk. We put the beer in the creek to keep it cold. Across the creek and through some woods was a golf course.

We got very drunk, then went and spied on the golfers. Every time a golfer would hit a golf ball up on the green, my friend would dart out of the woods, grab the golf ball and throw it back at the golfer.

It was .... hilarious!! They got so friggin mad.

Well, if he's still around, they musta dun it right.

His dad made peach flavored shine. It was nasty stuff.

btw here is a picture of an old moonshine still:

This is why I carry a gun on the course.

Your family is from Virgina? When my great great grandfather Grove bought some property in Luray, Virgina, he found an still on the property. I'm afraid my family never did anything colorful like running a moonshine still. Well, my great aunt Lillian did marry someone who was a member of the Irish Mafia but that's about it.

my brother got caught driving drunk on thanksgiving day and the police called our parents to come pick him at the station. My dad when to pick him and dad was drunk too! Dad got the station and said " son , i told you not to drive drunk"! The police let dad drive home drunk!

oh geez!

I heard that there is a popular alcoholic drink out that is supposed to resemble moonshine. I cant remember the name but it is very very strong.

Irish Mafia???? :Ohno: What do they threaten to Riverdance until you pay???

"Stand aside lads I aims to show em me best moves."

I'm sorry.....I'll shut up now

Everclear is about as strong as you can get. It has more alcohol than rubbing alcohol.

Ugh..not something I would try.

The drink that I am referring to starts with either a P or a R.
