Let's hope that we are not going to fall for another World War :(

Not inconceivable that Bush would get us involved in another World War. It could suspend the elections and keep him in office.

How? Is it true? :hmm:

I don't want to see Bush in office again, I would happy with either McCain or Obama in office.

EU Government make sure there're no another WWIII. EU Government stopped US Government involvement.

You got it wrong. EU did not do anything to stop U.S.

U.S. President Bush and a few key cabinet members have been in touch with their allies and EU to find a diplomatic resolution to end the conflict. Recently Bush had a phone conversation with French President Sarkozy who holds the EU presidency. When the conflict began, Bush had a talk with Russian Prime Minister Putin about Russia's military actions against Georgia last Friday in Beijing where they were there to witness the Olympic opening ceremony.

U.S. will NOT do nothing and stay on the sideline in that kind of conflict as they are working with the allies and EU to find a better resolution.

Excuse me, I live here in Germany and know EU news on the same time as Russia attacked Georgia, not you.

Counsellor Angela Merkel told French President Sarkozy that they EU members should work together to focus on their potential as mediators, not rely on US involvement. They can't rely on the Americans fix for this. US Government know EU Government for peacemakers and have no problem for that...

Yes, I know Bush and Sarkozy phoned each other... Bush agreed to not involve but support them to this solution. What´s your point?

Oh please! I always follow International News including EU. Nothing in news said that EU did stop the U.S. involvement whatsoever. Bush did not say he agreed not to be involved nor it was not mentioned in news.

Well, he is already involved in this situation by ordering the U.S. military to deliver humanitarian aids to Georgia and sending Secretary of State Condi Rice to France and Georgia.

that's fine. Supplying weapons/armors/etc. to Georgia is an act of war against Russia.

U.S. already sent some military equipments and advisers whose purpose is to train Georgian soldiers, to Georgia long BEFORE the conflict happened.

that's fine. It's controversial at best... obviously criticized by Russians. But supplying them with military equipments and advisors DURING war time is an act of war

Obviously, Russia has been maintaining influence (and that is putting it lightly) within Georgian borders. The country has been bullying Georgia, angry that it has become an independent country of sorts.

Georgia, a re-newed country with an urgent sense of nationalism, has been trying to rid itself of any Russsian loyalties and influence. With a cease fire in effect, the Georgian military did a surprise attack (or raid) upon rebels within its own lands.

With the U.S. charging into Iraq to protect its own interests, why should it be surprising that Russia choses to exercise the same discretion?

Yeah, it is common for some countries to send military advisers to train other countries with smaller or weaker military so nothing is wrong with it. For example: Russia (formerly Soviet Union) trained North Korea and China to fight again the United Nations, led by the U.S. in the Korean War. I can add so many examples but at this point I have given you a good example about Russia.

You have made an excellent point. :)

Well, it appears Russia has agreed to back off and cease fire, saying that the aggressors have been punished enough.

Sighs... it's look like more dead humans are in 'trash' once their lives ended.
