Gary Coleman, star in Diff'rent Strokes, Dies

Come to find out that this month on May 6th, Dana Planto's son committed suicide, 11 years after his mother died from a drug overdose. He left a suicide note explaining why he killed himself.

I'm worried what all this will have an effect on Tom Bridges since he's now the last surviving member of their television show, Diff'rent Strokes. :(

Dana Plato....Now that was a sad story. I met her in Las Vegas once, she was bombed out of her mind. She was working at a dry cleaners at the time. If I remember correctly she worked at a video store there too.....and robbed it. She went to jail out there a few times. Wayne Newton bailed her out once.
 
Well, being a child actor is not a easy employment and they seem to have a difficult life trying to adjust their growing up and fame. Some of the former child actors turn out okay and move on with no problem.

Don't forget that Gary never forgive his parents and they are controlling his money from the series "Different Strokes". Also because of his dwarf height, he has problem with his health for a long while. I did not know he fell down and hit his head. Oh, boy, that is terrible. Being in a coma is a sad situation.

Rest in peace, Gary Coleman. :( :hug:

That's why I hate Hollywood sometimes, they get treated like trash when they get to the point they've grown out of their "cuteness" and leave them stereotyped that they can't find work elsewhere in Hollywood.

Very few get lucky to survive the stereotypes to find work.

Too many died in sad and tragic circumstances.

If you were a bored teenager watching Surreal Life, you would have immediately noticed that he absolutely despised that catchphrase ... so in honor of Gary, "what you NOT talkin' bout Willis?!?" :shock:

Yes.

He is not only the surviving member of the show.

Conrad Bain and Charlotte Rae are still alive so there are three surviving members left from the show.
