Interesting. Not the first time this has been attempted. I commend the students for their attempt but I don't see this as a practical invention.
 
Clever.

However, like Reba said, it's honestly not practical.

One; do you honestly see people going out and buying these?

Two; No offence to most but I think it encourages laziness. Like if you want to understand ASL then go pick up a book and try to understand us.

Three; Contact. More specifically eye contact and body language. This encourages people to rely on this device so much that people won't even need to look at us, much less properly interact. They have a device that will just tell them what we are signing and then they'll just give us what they want, and send us on our merry way to shut us up.

I dunno, this concept just seems like a bad idea to me :ugh:

Umm..no thanks, I will stick w/pen and paper. As an aside, I hate it when signers do not move their mouths.
 
So if someone used the gloves to interpret for them, how does the hearing person reply? On paper?
