future for kids....

horselover61 is correct, when a child comes in the world, promising and future plans can be change without noticed.

I had a lot of high expectations for my children to perform better in school, my oldest son been a honor roll student for over 6 years, and my younger son has just had his merit roll award for this school year.

I don't force them to do anything they do not want to do as for sport activities. They can be whatever they want to be, even if it's a doctor, or going for a scholarship. They have my support 100 percent. ;)

Horselover and Cheri,

You're right about the plans that could be change in the future.

Back to the topic;

Well, Im not sure about stuffs but for Fast Food, Im not going to let my future kids to eating Fast Food since I prefer them to eating healthy food first and such like that. Unless if a long trip in the car, then I might will allow them eat small of Fast Food. Depends on my mood and how behavior they are in. I know it's hard. :dunno:

Oh, yeah, when I was preganant I made all kinds of plans! I was going to be a perfect mom. Then the baby was born and reality set in, LOL!

EXACTLY!!!!!!!

OH, the plans I had and all of the things I swore I would never do. Looking back, I can't help but laugh at myself! I ended up doing things I swore I would never do.

For example, I read all of "the books" from the so-called experts about parenting and raising children. When the baby was born...I realized they didn't know what the HELL they were talking about! ;) Then I did some research- some of the authors didn't even have kids themselves! Hmph!

Bottom line- you will know what to do when the baby gets here- follow your instincts.

When I was pregnant with both kids, I just want them to have happiness in their future whatever they choose to be. I planned on ensuring that they have a wonderful childhood and not have to grow up so fast.

With my daughter, I vowed that she would grow up in a two-parent household but circumstances changed that with the divorce. However, my ex and I didnt put her in the middle and are still there for her so she wasnt negatively affected by it. She loves my current hubby and my ex's girlfriend and that is important.

As for my 2 year old, just want him to grow up happy too.

As for their careers, I want them to find jobs that they love doing.

I am more of go with the flow and keep my expectations known to them as far as school is concerned.

I do think the same thing, we learn that we have baby coming up. our first new born which it will due jan 23 but it not passed 3 months yet.

we have discuss about the future for child and scare at the same time. Reason, my mom speak such as negative while other mom speak in toward of our hope and investment wealth. It exciting for us, of course; it like.. it actually happen... the bless has began.

About the single mother, I watch the news, it has big affect, but don't listen my word about negative. They knows what to do, all you ask and seek because we thank that we have website that we are search for answer and survival. Without internet or alldeaf.com. We might be clueless where to began.

Single mother is big thing than anything but--- one thing I hate to see when kid grow up and turn out angry and then never spoken until mother die and kid to adult regret. Something that I do not want see each other...

Also, just remember... the child is the begin....

My Husband and I have gone through this. We had talked about this while I was pregnant and is still talking about it after he was born two years ago. We both have decided that he'll choose his own religion since I'm Lutheran and Preston (My husband) isn't in any religion except for believing in Buddism and God is everywhere around us. We don't want to put him in situation that he has to choose between his father or mine religion. So we both decided just teach him both and from there, let him decide for himself.

Also, we want to give him much freedom as we can as I grew up in a family not having much freedom and Preston had lots of freedom and he turned out well. But we of course will teach him the line, to show where he can't do, like he can not step out of boundaries. We want him to be able to make his own choices, letting him be his own person.

We have decided to put him in Private school....we're not sure which...but I do know I don't want to put him in Catholic Private School...as I had bad experience with it as a child and I don't agree with that religion (No offense to catholics out there) but I want him to be in good school with small class with kids he'll know for eight years and teacher that will give him good teaching. Public school doesn't really do that. After all I just graduated from High School two years ago and they don't really teach you anything new...basically same things I've learned in Middle School.

Those are few examples of what we have discussed on. :)
