Yesterday, I went to see the Nurse Practitioner because of an upset stomach. She examined me and she said that I am stressed. So, she puts me on Protonix 40mg. Does anyone have a similar experience?
I never had that experience before until now...

I was thinking of buying a book called "Full Catastrople Living" by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Has anyone read it? Was it good?

Stress is really hard on your body. Many of us are stressed right now.

I recommend developing some healthy strategies to deal with stress. I like to run. I can be in the worst mood when I start, and I feel so much better after I run. I also love going to the dog park with my dogs. Seeing the joy on the dogs' grinning faces when they run is contagious.

Any exercise that you enjoy, gardening, hobbies, volunteering to help others (takes the focus off youself), spending time in nature, yoga, meditation, etc.

Hope that you feel better soon!

Having a lot of problems with my stomach too!...Stress is a factor, my doctor told me also......

We're gonna get another dog tomorrow! A Golden Retriever/Chow...her former owner, age 98, has gone into a nursing home......The dog is a female, 4-6 yrs. old, spayed, and named "Baby".......So, it's my plan to take "Baby" for some long mid-morning/late afternoon walks!...I feel she is gonna make me feel so much better and walk the stress off.As for my other dog, a Pomeranian....she'll be sleeping on her silk pillow! Too hot out there for her.

Yea for dogs! The unconditional love that a pet provides is good for mental health. And you can't just have one! :giggle:

I have a "Baby," too, and the name fits her well. Enjoy your new pooch!

Better time management, letting go of thing you control, a clean house, delineation of unimportant things, meditation, good music, feeling good about yourself and more "me time" helps a lot in dealing with stress.

Finding out whats the cause of your stress is a very good step to take so that you can fix the issue firsthand and then give yourself a nice break to do the things you want to do.

I wish you the best. Again, time management always helps.

Thanks, everyone!

I am stressed because of my job. I hate my part-time job, I hate my company and I hate my boss. I wanted to quit my job but I can't... I know that it's very difficult to find a part-time job around here because of the economy and of course, money. *sigh*

My stomach is not getting better. I will call for an appointment this week.

I ordered a paperback book thru Amazon last week. It arrived the very next day. I will read it when I have a time.

Outside of my work, I have no problem. I do hang around with my deaf and hearing friends and my neighbors as well. My free time is painting, (since I am an artist), which I enjoy most. Also, I enjoy to travel all over the world.

I used to have one cat. We had to put her to sleep last March. She had cancer. I will miss her. *sigh* I was thinking of getting one but I will go back to school again, to finish my education, that I need to focus on. I only have one year left.

Thanks again. :)
