Freezing Cold!

Yeah... I forget actual temps, but I think if memory serves me correctly, it can go down into the 30s and 40s. It doesn't last all winter, but you'll have some chilly nights. Just keep a good heavy coat and warm clothing, and you'll be OK. A nice warm comforter won't hurt, either. :)

Alrighty, thanks! :)

It is cold today! I sent my kids to school bundled up in their coats. Plus my heater has been turning off and on all day.

Yup, the cold is comming!

Finally! In Iowa today is forecast 70 degrees, but tomorrow highs will be in the 50's.

Hooray!:cold::dance:

Not here. We won't see a chill until January. Even then, it will only go down into the 50s. My friends in other parts of the country hate me because I live in the tropics and we're in "summer" year round, except for the two weeks in January where we get a taste of fall. I rub it in, too. :giggle:

lucky ;)

by the way, happy birthday to you :)

It's in the 50's this week....FREEZING!!! I even consider 70's cold....and people think I'm insane, lol.

I know this is out of topic but I can wear sweatshirt in 80's and not break out a sweat, I'll be all comfortable.

But the winter is sneaking upon us Washington as it's already in 50's and that's cold enough. I know it'll go into 40's and 30's soon enough in Winter and I'm so NOT looking forward to that! I have to buddle up in sweater, sweatshirt, jacket and gloves just to stay warm when I go out in the winter!

You'd be surprised. It does get cold where you are, but it's never snowed.

It does get cold in Florida but only like 9 or 10 days every year. It varies also. It snowed in Sarasota and Miami many, many years ago so anything is possible. Just not every winter. Most winters, mild with a few cold days.

I think we used the heater only three times last winter at night.

You're right. I don't ever remember it snowing in Miami, though, or even Ft Myers for that matter. We tend to use our heater for about a week in January and Febuary, so it does vary. It really depends on how acclimated you are to the weather. Some people can handle the cold really well, while others can't.

I'm one of those that can't. :giggle:

In Carolina, it's really a mixed bag - Very warm afternoons followed by very cool nights. The mountains have pretty much turned cooler like it is up north.

Its a bit chilly here outside and some winds nothing to extreme of any cold. There's a fire in the Porter Ranch area in San Fernando Valley area (California)

I saw on news recently about fire in the Porter Ranch area, Some of them lost their home. It's sad.

disappointing for people that who lost homes is really tough. I hope they cover the insurance.

The reason that NW and SW states are experiencing cold weather is because last weekend, a Cat 1 Hurricane landed in Baja California and became a Low pressure system that went thru northern mexico and western Arizon and eastern NM then further north to Canada. The low pressure system were counterclockwise so cold front from Canada were pushed down to southwestern states pushing temperature down quickly. Right now the temp are rising slowly and will be normal soon. That's because cold air are shifting east... see this weather news

It went down to frost last weekend and broke old record in 1981 so this means, we possible get 3 feet of snow alike back in 1982, who knows. ;)

Yeah it is sad, it is now in Santa Susana mountain not too far from my birthplace and families live there. Fires always there every year so I am used to it. It is high price for anyone to live near hills and canyons.

Really. nothing happens to you?.

I grew up in Simi Valley and am used to many fires coming in from other side of Santa Susana which it is part of Porter Ranch. Last night my husband called his parents to make sure they are allright, nothing happen to them and other member of families and friends. I have not watch news today yet cuz I worked all day and no time watch tv. Hopefully fires are out by now. P.S. I live a hour away from there so we are all safe.
