avg is a free one, its a waste of time, best to buy (and renew each year) for norton, or panda, or kaspersky, or anything but dont look in internet for which anti virus read computer magazines (from library?) see what they say is best, buy the real thing.
I use Kaspersky fully legit and absolutely no problems. my mate fixex computer 80% off all PC get fixed get infected because people go for the cheap or free shit and AVG do Nothing its JUNK.
Do you want a free car? its the same a free car is junk...for anti-virus its exactly the same

I use Norton. I love it. I NEVER have problems on my computer or online like here, email, FB, NOTHING. I have used Norton for years and I would not switch to anything else.

Hmmm. I use Nod32 and I am happy with it. It has nothing to do with Pop ups. You must use your computer to prevent those. What is happening with your Nod32? Did you use the toolbox to set up automatic updates? Did you enable? I hope you solve the problem!

You know, it's interesting that I have heard the others say the same about Norton slowing down computers. I think that may be the older computers? I can't even tell that Norton is running on my laptop, it's so super-fast. I notice no difference with it running or not.

that would be about right...its more noticable on older, slower machines

Free Avast! along with Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D-a lethal combination though tea timer from Spybot S&D can be a rescouce hog.

Yes, It's all depends on computer. I bet you have dual cores and more than 3GB of ram.

Norton is awful slow down a lot if someone use single core and less than 1GB of RAM.
