Anyone enjoyin watchin foregin films?

These type of films are certainly DIFFERENT from American-made films.

I like Mexician, French and Italian ones...

Listed below:

Ameile <----- (French) Just an inspiration of this young lady and how she perceive the world that is around her!

Yu Mama Tabien <---- (Mexican) Very trippy & twisty plot, but yet, it is appealing!

Life is Beautiful (Italian film) <---- this actually made me cry since I hardly cry after the good/sad endings of the movies... so, it is a movie that I would never forgot about...

I collect foreign films. LOL...
I have "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" which I bought from Québec, so that I could watch it with French subtitles. It is a crazy movie, Amélie's so nutty. LOL
I do have "Y Tu Mama Tambien", which is really sad in the end, but good movie! A bit too much sex though! LOL
I also have "Life is Beautiful," it is such a good movie.
Other foreign films I have are:
Anatomy, Run Lola Run, Princess and the Warrior, Funny Games, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Devil's Backbone, He Loves Me He Loves Me Not, Beyond Silence, etc... I have also seen many other foreign films. If you're curious about a movie or two, ask away!

I collect a few foreign films from China and Japan. I like watching them subtitled.

I like this movie called "Run, Lola, Run"

And other one's called (I think) Like chocolate for water...
It's almost like "Soul food" but mexican style... I think it's very good!

Yeh! Completely forgot all about Run, Lola, Run...

Also, the last film I just saw...

El Crimen del Padre Amaro

(Crime of Father Amaro)

My friend and I kept wondering how the film showed the story from hundred years ago and is applied to the modern verision of this film. It stirred up a controversy in Mexico and if I heard right, it is not allowed to be displayed in Mexico due to religious aspects but can be showed in other countries.

I haven't heard of "El Crimen del Padre Amaro," but I think it does sound familiar to me... about priest and homosexuality? Not sure?

I loved "Like Water for Chocolate." Good movie...

VamPyroX, can't you list a few movies you have? I'd like to see what kind of films you like, like kung-fu films or what? :)

Yes, it is about the young priest - but he's heterosexual and he had invested in plenty of sins and he got punished for his sins from God to imply someone else's death, whom the person he loved so deeply.

Actually, the actor who played as a young priest is one of main characters in Y Tu Mama Tabien.

Ok, maybe the one I thought was an Italian movie instead.
I'll have to keep an eye out for the movie you're talking about.

Gael García Bernal is really a cool actor, also cutie. LOL

I've been meaning to watch "Run, Lola, Run" sometimes. When it was released, I kept forgetting to rent it.

Koyla - czech film about a bachelor's cold heart being warmed up by a little boy he is paid to take care of while his mother is away somewhere else. It was a lovely film with some emotional stuff.

Fucking Amål - I saw somewhere else online that this film is actually censored in the USA, but it is a noteworthy film made in Sweden. Amål is this little town, and it's about two girls falling in love with each other and the obstacles they face by family and friends. I'm not gay, but it was still a cute story. Sorta a teen movie.

Jeg er Dina (I am Dina) - Norwegian film, a first, since I thought other Norwegian films sucked, but this one was very good! It's about a woman who has her own demons from the past to contend with, and has her music.

I really can't think of anything else.... I saw Amelie DVD at the video store here, but it didn't have English subtitles.

Oh yes, and I liked Jet Li and Jackie Chan movies.

I must be pretty tired.... I was also thinking of that chinese movie, the big hit in USA.... dragons somethin'... oh! Just so on the tip of my tongue! LOL

I like chinese and japanese movies, a lot of action in there. Must be subtitled, of course.

Hi, didn't know you were a Norwegian. Valkommen! LOL
I liked Koyla too. I have heard of Amal, but I dont think it is available in the USA, or I havent seen it here. I never heard of Jeg er Dina. The Chinese movie you might be thinking of is Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Skriv snart!

My roommate recently watched a weird foreign movie. He borrowed it from someone else and was curious what it was like. It was a bangelesh movie... I think. Boy, those people had terrible acting skills. Even the english translation sucks!

Not really... I haven't seen any new foreign films in the cinema lately. Last one I saw on the screen was: "À la folie, pas du tout" (He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not) which was kind of cool to watch. That night after I watched it, I ordered the DVD from France, and watched it again. It's cool. I wish they would show "L'Auberge Espagnole" on the screen already. :dunno:

Editied this cos I forgot to add recent foreign films on the screen

Talk to Her
Bend it like Beckham
Nowhere in Africa
The Travelling Birds
The Man on the Train (coming out on May 9th)
Euro Pudding (L'Auberge Espagnole) coming out on May 16th!!!!
Valentin (June 27th)
Kukushka (June 27th)
