JW Bible

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we are happy to answer any questions of people who really want to know. But, we don't argue or disrespect other people. Each person can have their right to beliefs.

The New World Translation is translated from the original Hebrew and Greek languages. Have you got a copy of New World translation? If you compare with KJV or any other version you will see it is easier to read and the same as the other Bibles with a few things different.

One of the main differences is that the name of God, Jehovah is left where the original bible put it. The KJV has taken God's name out of the Bible and put LORD or GOD where the original name of God was. I am not making this up. It is known fact. Some KJV will put this admit in the front or back of their Bible. You can research and see it is true. But JW dont want to change the Bible so they leave God's name where belongs about 7,000 times.

DESTROYED OR PERISH: ASKJO said: "Notice a word, "destroyed."

ASKJO said: Notice a word, "destroyed." If a lost soul rejected Jesus Christ, then his soul will be destroyed. This means that a soul will not live -- GONE! But KJV on John 3:16 said, "perish" then a soul will live in hell forever. See the difference between KJV and JW's NWT.

I just look in dictionary: Says Websters Dictionary word DESTROY: to tear down; demolish, to wreck; ruin to do away with, to kill. word PERISH: to be destroyed or ruin, to die esp. violently. Seem very same

Check out this: What KJV says about soul. You think soul can't die? Look at your bible KJV Ezekiel 18:4 and 18:20....hmmm it says the soul that sins it itself will die. Where does scripture say will live forever in hell? Interesting!

For a JW to brandish a flag of any nation would be to show an allegiance to- or support of- that nation and it's government, JW's think that only God Jehovah is deserving of allegiance and only HIS government (not any man-made government) can succeed... thus we choose to stay neutral when it comes to political matters, if we support the country we live in- in that way- then we might as well go to war and kill other people (something else that we do not do), the simple fact is that we choose to stay neutral, and by so we show God that our complete devotion is to him.

Here is some other info you might like to read (taken from Jehovah's Witnesses: Authorized Site of the Office of Public Information)

Beliefs—Role in Society

Respect for Authority
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that it is their Christian responsibility to be model citizens. For this reason, they honor and respect governmental authority. Only on those rare occasions when a government demands what is in direct conflict with what God commands do Jehovah's Witnesses decline to comply. Their publications and public ministry encourage everyone to be law-abiding.—Matthew 22:17-21; Acts 5:29; Romans 13:1-7.

Relationship to Society
Jehovah's Witnesses are found at all levels of society, and they do not physically separate themselves from those who do not share their beliefs. They live, work, and go to school with people of different religious beliefs, and they enjoy cordial relationships with them. Jehovah's Witnesses follow Jesus' example of being "no part of the world" by avoiding the unchristian prejudices and controversies that divide mankind today. Although not ascetics, they avoid being excessive in the pursuit of wealth, pleasure, or prominence.—John 17:15, 16; 1 John 2:15, 16.

Neutrality
Following the examples set by Jesus and first-century Christians, Jehovah's Witnesses do not share in the politics or wars of any nation. Their stand of Christian neutrality is well documented in history. They firmly believe that they must "beat their swords into plowshares" and not "learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4) At the same time, Jehovah's Witnesses recognize the authority of nations to raise armies and defend themselves, and they do not interfere with what others choose to do.—John 18:36.

What can you do if you do not agree with laws that are in direct conflict with your beliefs?

Does this apply to homosexuality.. since it is followed by prejudices about it that divide HUmankind today? ;)

Firstly, JW's are willing to fight for our beliefs, but we do not break laws, if it requires our going to jail for not conforming to them (as has happened in the past with things such as the draft) then we will.

secondly, I'm a bit confused about your question, but I will try to answer it... "unchristian prejudices and controversies" is referring to any form of prejudice such as racial, cultural, religious, etc... though we may not agree with something, we are not prejudice, it's for each person to choose their own way. The reason we avoid controversies is so that we don't bring reproach upon God's name in any way, we wouldn't want to have people look at "those Jehovah's Witnesses" as people who are always involved in something controversial. With regards homosexuality, there is nothing wrong with BEING gay, but we believe that the ACT of homosexuality (having relations with another man/woman) is going against what God wants for us... we do not JUDGE people (no-matter what they are doing) we believe that only God can read peoples hearts and only HE can judge them.

I have a question.... Once a person is disfellowship from J.W. i know that family are not allow to talk to the disfellowship abt J.W. but anything in genreal?

Well, it's really a conscience matter... some people think it's OK to talk to a disfellowshipped person, some people don't... if we do talk to them, we're asked that it be kept to a minimum and not about religious matters. If the disfellowshipped person is showing that they are sorry for whatever it was they did to be disfellowshipped they will eventually be "reinstated" and considered part of the congregation again, and then people are free to talk about whatever they want... it's kind of like a heightened form of a "time-out" for children when they do something wrong.

Well nobody is perfect, and you can't force somebody into a religion by marriage... you can be married to a JW but not be one yourself. If the family gives her dirty looks that is the family's choice, our religion does NOT tell us to be mean to people (or to treat them badly) under ANY circumstances. Just because some people in one congregation have misunderstood some other people doesn't make the whole religion bad, you can't base your opinion on a religion of almost 7 million people (6,741,444 to be exact) on the experiences of ONE person, or even of a 100 people.

thank god i've left J.W. .......they are hyprocrite

Well, he was there when that happened. He saw it all with his own eyes. You couldn't expect him to say this. Always prepare to expect the unexpect.

101 Strange Beliefs and Practices of Jehovah's Witnesses

Here are some more infos on J.W. on what they can do and cannot do.

myself thinks most J.W. are not mentally chanaglled cuz most have H.S. degree and is always hanging out with JW and are low mind. that way the Elders have more control over this, like a cult. I am glad that i have COMMON SENSE to leave the cult.

also, I shocked that JW thought that Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel. It WRONG DOCTRINE!! Jesus Christ died on the cross for sin to people. They can ask to Jesus Christ's blood wash their heart from away sin, and from keep away hell too.
