If my husband is comfortable with it, i will like to name my son Perry in honor of his late father-- I think C (my husband) is still hesistant about it because he doesn't want to acknowledge that Perry is gone for good.
"Don't name the living after somebody alive..."... from that movie where the son told his father that his toddler grandson was named after him (the name was Sol.. Sal something) and the father was like "Hey-- you cannot name him after me-- i haven't died yet.. dont name the living after... " or something; I cannot recollect. It is a hebrew supersition i believe. (Do feel free to correct me).
For daughers: it will be definitely a foreign name. Japanese or Finnish. Sakura, Kieri, Kirsiakka, Marlee (this is the ONLY English name I like), Meri... if I do have faternal twins (a boy and a girl), I wll name them "brother" and "sister" in Finnish.
I have planned many names for many possibilies of offspring I have.
For sons: i will try to get an occupation named for his middle name. I have noticed a pattern in my husband's family-- the father's middle name was Mason and he worked in masonry. My husband's middle name is Dean-- and he is an ASL professor-to-be (so I said, "Hey-- maybe you will become the Dean of ASL in the future! and this justify your middle name just like your dad justified his middle name!" and he loves this idea)... so I probably will choose the middle name "Doctor" or smoething
.... But I probably will name my sons in Greek or Finnish... or Arabic (preferrably Farsi).
I did think about "Pax" which means Peace. It sounds masculine enough for a boy name even though the name is actually for a goddess.
I am an artist so I want to "werid-ify" my children ;-)
I know an old highschool schoolmate who planned to give bith to four children (she already had one while in highschool and named the baby Lilya) to spell out L O V E by each child's first name's initial. Lilya represents the first letter of LOVE so I am sure by now they are on "V" already. The mother has been with the father since middle school. They were not those flicky, immature couple but rather a committed, mature, and affectional couple who understand and express "love" already in high school. Sweet couple.... hope they are still doing good today... and complete the spelling of LOVE :-D
