Hardly.
then again you come across as someone who thinks us Deaf are dumb too..
Anyway
Im not the kind to let a dictionary dictate to me if im normal or not. clearly you are,
So that their is no misunderstanding ill be clear.
deaf are normal human biengs. We lead full meaningfull lives, we have a gift that we are Deaf, and many of us hold sympathy for the signed impaired. we are NORMAL, to be DEAF is normal,
You missed the humor in this. Remember you were the one quoting dictionary definitions to justify sign is technology. You got caught with your own arguments.
I'll give you the definition of that word as used here. " In logic and philosophy, an argument is a series of statements typically used to persuade someone of something or to present reasons for accepting a conclusion"
And please don't put words into my mouth. Speak for yourself and I will do the same. It seems you completely misunderstand my arguments and immediately post an emotional rebuttal.
You also seem to ignore requests for clarification when you make statements about others that you cannot backup. I refer you back to post #19 when you accused me of having a CI Ideology. Now you accuse me of thinking Deaf people are dumb. So that must mean I think I am dumb as is the mother of MY children and many of my friends. There are a lot of stupid people on this world but whether or not they can hear has nothing to do with it.
As for the term normal. You do realize that language had to have common meanings in order to communicate effectively. I would have advised the poster to use hearing people instead of normal. I don't like the term either, normal really means Same as the majority dominant culture and sociological norms in area. So really Deaf or HoH are different from the norm.
And if we looked close we cold probably pick apart the "normal" group....
One example is the normal society thinks BDSM is perverted and wrong, yet 50 Shades of Grey sold over 40 million copies. Many must obviously have hidden interest or fetish for BDSM. So they cannot be part of that normal group.
We can find many examples where people differ from what they claim is the norm. To the point one could argue that "normal" does not actually exist.
