PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A Florida woman was arrested after police said she attacked her husband for passing gas one too many times.

According to a police report, around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 11, an officer responded to a domestic battery call at a home in Port St. Lucie.

The officer said a man at the home stated he was lying in bed with his wife when he passed gas.

The husband said he wife, identified as Dawn Meikle, 55, then began elbowing him on his arm. The husband said he continued to pass gas and Meikle continued to elbow and kick him again.

He told police that he began restraining his wife for his own safety but her "lip was inadvertently split open," according to the report.

During the fight, police said the husband suffered several 6- to 8-inch scratches across his chest. His shirt was also ripped in three different places.

Meikle admitted to police that she began to elbow and punch him after she repeatedly told him to stop passing gas in bed.

She also said her lip became split only while trying to be restrained and not from a punch.

Meikle was charged with domestic battery and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.

People pass gas when they're sleeping and have no idea they're doing this , if this was the case the wife should left the bed . And call a doctor for her husband to see if he has anything wrong with.
 
The wife should plead self defense from a biological weapon attack. :lol:

I would rather be bombed by deadly farts than flying arm weapons while sleeping ! My ex husband would trash around while sleeping and his arms would land right across my face ! I moved in my daughter's bedroom .

I cam see that... But this article reads as if he was awake and aware... Granted I must admit I kicked my ex out of bed for hot boxing me... So cannot say I would not do the same...

Why should the wife have to leave the bed?...She's not the one who is doing the farting....and the article said he had done it numerous times...

Feel he was doing it to aggravate her....and it's a very nasty habit!....and having no respect for your partner....

Never heard of anyone divorcing because of their partner farting all the time...but maybe this couple is due one.

I've been around people who think it's funny if they fart in public....sure, it's a natural body function....but there's a time and place for it.

But she is also the one objecting the issue to a point of not being able to control herself of she resorts to violence...

Think different sleeping arrangements could be negotiated... But really when spouses in the US start sleeping in different rooms generally (not always) divorce follows...

Maybe the wife is farting in her sleep and the husband is getting back at her . Yeah farting does smell bad but the wife is the one that broke the law and got arrested . We are only hearing of the part of the story , who know what else the two been fighting about . I find it hard to believe it only about the husband farting in the bedroom .
 
It's healthy to fart. Unless, you want to make less odor - get special pills that will cause fart smell like chocolate.

You're right ! When I had acupuncture treatments I was told not to hold my farts in . And if someone is a farting a lot that could mean they have health issues . If the woman in this story had a brain she would tried to get her husband to see a doctor instead of attacking him...

Well. if you want to fart around strangers :giggle:....that's ur business...Not very lady-like if you ask me!...And if you're farting more than the usual, ask urself what you've been eating....or see a doctor....

Nah!....article said the man had been doing it numerous times...just too lazy to get up and fart in the bathroom...even take a dump!...Feel she got tired of being farted on!....and they were in the bed....a place to sleep and not be interrupted by loud farts or the smell!....It's a lack of respect....

And if my hubby did this time and time again...why should I be the one to say..."I'm taking you to the doctor"....he's a grown man, can take himself....

As for the lady leaving the bed....hell, I'd make him sleep in the dog house or the sofa if he continued to do this disrespect toward me.

It a good thing you never were a health aide ! I been farted on so many times I lost count . Some of clients were so old and sick they weren't able to hold in a fart or even get up on their own! I said before we are only hearing one side of the story here and have no idea what else is going between the couple . Yeah but if you really love love your husband you would try and get him to see a doctor ! I really feel there more going with the couple beside the guy farting . I bet you fart when you're sleeping . Yeah that I would love to see you get a guy to sleep in the dog house !

No, never a health "Aide"...but know of many Health Nurses and Care Givers....Too bad you were farted on so much....:giggle:

Not sure if I fart while I'm sleeping ??? ...only my doggie knows for sure...

But I do know, if a man really respects his wife, he's not going to be farting on her in the Bed....unless they are playing around, being silly.....then again, if the wife doesn't like it, she lets it be known she doesn't....and if he won't Stop...then he's the one who should sleep elsewhere.
