Florida teen in X-rated videos can return to school after suspension

I do not agree with his mother's decision to pimp out her son in porn flicks.

Of course it was his decision. I hope his future ex wife (wives) can live with it.

Become porn star is better than live with government money - food stamp, SSI, Medicaid and Section 8.

isn't that what his mom was on, and why she was pimping him out?

I have no idea about his mother - she may have job but have a lot of debt.

Many middle class families are struggling with debt, even if they have decent jobs.

Still no reason to pimp out your son ... just saying.

maybe his mom developed an allergy to work? :dunno:

There are a lot ways to help out your folks financially ... paper routes, grocery store, cutting grass, etc.

Starring in a porn to help out his momma is so "noble" (do I need to point out the sarcasm?)

It is her choice and her way, regardless on reasons. It is about her interest.

Porn stars earn more money than paper routes, grocery store and cutting grass, but jobs maybe very limited for young adult - just very oversaturated.

I'm not judging her life or her son's life since they don't anything is illegal.

If they involve child porn so I will have serious issue and it is very illegal.

You passed judgement when you condemned the public school for expelling him.

because public school shouldn't punish for his activity outside of school and outside of school is private matter.

Until it became public knowledge in the school. Public schools do not condone pornography.

That is why a lot of teacher's that strip get fired when it becomes known what they do.

In bold, only in school buildings - never carry porn material into school building.

I'm talking about 18 years old's private life - during outside of school.

No surprise about teachers. The teachers and students seem treated differently.

Why should a zero tolerance policy not be in effect for students too?

because zero tolerance policy doesn't work for students and they could end up to screw their life up.

Zero tolerance ineffective in schools, study finds

I was asking, specifically, about zero tolerance in regards to pornography. Keep in mind, bringing a Playboy to class is far, far, different than your entire school finding out you were in a porn movie. Now, it isn't just his school that knows about this, it is his entire town, State ... and there is even a Nomad walking around Egypt with his iphone reading about it.

When I was in high school, students got expelled for far less (like pulling a fire alarm).

I have no idea about your question - this student is 18 years old and he has porn career outside of school, so it is not school's issue to deal with student's career outside of school. School only take deal if occur on school's properties.

Teachers are different - I think it could be state regulation or teacher's certification or licensing that forbid them from involve in porn career or dirty adult jobs, so schools have to follow the state regulation to fire teachers.

You are forgetting the school's "code of conduct". When this 18 year old's "private life" became "public knowledge" on campus, the administration had a choice to make ... condone a breach in a code of conduct, or expel him.

And .. they didn't expel him for starring in a porn flick. It was when he threatened a teacher.

Do you also commend him for threatening a teacher?

It is just my opinion that this "kid" does not belong in a public school environment.

It looks like you are not read article clearly.

The code of conduct is limited to school only, not outside of school.

First, he was suspended over investigation with "possible threat" and there is no detail about threat. I guess that school could punish students for porn career as excuse.

Brevard County Schools spokeswoman Michelle Irwin disputed the mother's account, saying that although a campus monitor overheard the chatter surrounding Marucci and his work, Marucci wasn't suspended as a result of his explicit videos. Instead he was suspended because of an investigation of the teen and "possible threats" he made, she said.

Last question - I couldn't answer because there is not enough detail about possible threat or school could use porn as excuse, so need more investigation.
