Fleeing Car Crashes With Deaf Students' School Van - News Story - WPXI Pittsburgh
Two children from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf are being treated at Childrens Hospital for minor injuries after a police chase ended with a crash in Wilkinsburg.
Detectives said they attempted a traffic stop this afternoon on Franklin Avenue, when the vehicle sped away, then slowed allowing one man to exit.
A detective followed the man, identified as 19-year old Raymarr Young, who allegedly pointed a gun, forcing the detective to duck for cover and lose sight of the suspect.
Meanwhile, the vehicle with 17, 18, and 25-year old men inside continued through a red-light at Swissvale Avenue where the car collided with the school van.
The men were taken Presbyterian and Mercy hospitals.
Each is facing several charges.
None of the injuries is considered serious.
Police are still searching for Young.
