Fla. woman chooses jail over $7.45 eatery bill

She refuses to pay for coffee, sandwich; could face up to 60 days in prison

It didn't say much why she refused to pay. It seem to me that she has no money and prefer to stay prison to have warm and foods?

She us66 years old, it seems to me probably she couldn't stretch her social security enough to live and decided she would be warm and fed in jail.:(

Did it saying she already ate it? It could be food that isn't what she order it and refuse to pay? Not enough details! *show fist at reporter*

Interesting story. Could be she wanted a warm place and free food. I don't know why else anyone would go to jail for a $7.45 bill.

that's true... goddam freeloader..

Oh, well - life is too short. Wish there's someone else who will be willin' to pay for her. A $ 7.45 bill is nothin'.

Then why would she eat it? I'm guessing that everything was consumed and the check was given at the end of the dining experience.

Need more info..many ADers' assumptions are probably right...she wanted free food and a warm place to stay due to being broke.

It's expensive these days to be considered human, it would seem.

It didn't say she already ate it but if you would know, Waffle House always does the "paying" part at the end of the meal. I've ate at Waffle House so many times and when you're done eating, you pay before you leave the premise.

some jails require ya pay for foods. and boarding so she might have to pay for it

Maybe, in the near future there'll be pre-paid before they serve ? Just like gas station - to prevent stealin' gas when takin' off. :hmm:

My thoughts exactly.

If she was in my restaurant, I would have given it to her for "free".

What's wrong with credit card? She could use it, also she have to pay back later via credit bill.

I had ate Waffle House so few time and dislike due too much greasy.

It could be that she has no money to pay via credit???

Ok, think about other. :hmm:

If she don't have money then she supposed not to eat there, or if no money on debit card then use it, it's her risk for end up to pay overdraft fee.

For me, it's safer to not eat there if no money left.

She probably did not have a credit card. Not everyone has a credit card. I don't have one.
