Hello, my name is Natalie, i am 19 years old, and I am a brand new hearing aid user. Although all my life I have had difficulty hearing, I always brushed it off because I didn't want to be a young person who couldn't hear. Well I have finally put my fears aside and got them! I have dot by resound and today was my second day wearing them. I was wondering if anyone would share their first time experiences with me because mine isin't exactly going the way I thought it would be. I am already frustrated and I feel a bit distant from the world. I don't have much support from where I am living, and I am hoping to meet some amazing people on here to help me on my way. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon!

Welcome to AllDeaf Natalie. I remember when I got my first hearing aids as an adult. I had them from age 7-10 then again from 35-43. have now gone 2 years without anything, but the last 7 months being totally deaf. At 35, I remember that everything seemed so loud compared to whayt I was used to, but I heard things I don't remember ever hearing like crickets and frogs. The most amazing things I remember mentioning to the audiologist was that the flushing of the toilet sounded like Niagra Falls. :giggle:
